Shield
The armor gauntlet is significant of a challenge symbol for combat in defense of country and the service, as well as the honor and record of the Regiment. The division of the shield per fess, represents the East and West direction of the Boundary Line between the States of Wisconsin and Illinois, and records of division of the allocation of the Regiments for the States of Wisconsin and Illinois, blue representing the field of Wisconsins flag and white the field of Illinois flag.
Crest
The crest is that of the United States Army Reserve.
The coat of arms was approved for the 320th Cavalry Regiment on13 March 1925. It was amended to correct the blazon of the shield on 20 April 1925. The insignia was rescinded on 2 March 1959.
